Exciting news; the Global Entrepreneurship Program has recently announced a new collaboration with Pace University in New York City, USA!
Students enrolled on the Global Entrepreneurship Program will benefit from living, working and studying across three continents and at three prestigious universities: emlyon business school in Lyon, France, Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China and Pace University in New York, USA. The graduating class of 2016-2017 will be the first to profit from this new collaboration, spending May to August 2017 in the Big Apple!
The US semester of the Global Entrepreneurship Program will be conducted at Lubin School of Business at Pace University. A leading business school with AACSB accreditation, Lubin School of Business has 35 years of expertise in its entrepreneurship program, with particular recognition for its student-centered environment and outstanding facilities. Situated in Lower Manhattan, the Lubin School of Business focuses on not only academic topics, but also aims to foster an entrepreneurial way of thinking. This allows students to harness their creativity to initiate, develop and manage new business ventures, or to continue to grow and expand existing businesses.
Pace University has an Entrepreneurship Lab – a dedicated workspace which allows students to work in a collaborative environment in order to develop their entrepreneurial skills alongside fellow students and with the help of a dedicated team of staff. Here students can explore their own ideas in an informal and innovative active-learning environment. The Entrepreneurship Lab is equipped with up-to-date technological resources, such as a 3D printer, a wide range of computers with sophisticated software, and a professional video studio. As well as providing valuable resources, the Entrepreneurship Lab organizes events and extra-curricular activities such as workshops, competitions and lectures.
Since the Entrepreneurship Lab opened in 2012, faculty members have published more than a dozen research papers to further the field of entrepreneurship. In particular, Dr. Melissa Cardon has been focusing on researching and analyzing entrepreneurial passion, specifically how entrepreneurs can unleash their passion to get the best results for themselves and their organizations. Her work has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Venturing and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.
Pace University’s Lubin School of Business is also renowned for its Small Business Development Centre which offers free-of-charge advice to local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs and has worked directly with 15,725 businesses, helping them to invest $166,897,245 in the area’s economy, and create or save 6,870 jobs since its conception in 1986.
One of the many benefits of the Global Entrepreneurship Program is the access to teaching staff who have direct experience as entrepreneurs and working in an array of businesses. Pace University continues in this direction. With faculty staff having worked across various fields in the business world, and with many of them being entrepreneurs in their own right. This mix of experience and scholarly research means students can work on real-life case studies, applying the latest theories to real-life business models, thus developing the tools necessary to later use them for their own business endeavors. Adding to the long list of notable alumni, recent alumnus David Arabov, entrepreneur and founder of popular news site Elite Daily now serves as one of many alumni mentors for current students at Pace University’s Entrepreneurship Lab.
